Halloween Double-layered Oreo Marshmallows + Candy GIVEAWAY!!

Happy (Early) Halloween, folks!!! :)
Are all you ghouls and gals ready for some awesome trick-o-treating? I know I am! I’ll be all decked out in my Batman costume tomorrow :P I know y’all are going to want to stay to the end of this post because I have a GIVEAWAY today! My very first one! Yaaaaay!
I went to Dylan’s Candy Bar not too long ago and when I was there I figured I’d pick up some awesome candy as a giveaway. I know what you’re thinking. Candy?! C’mon. I’m going to get candy by the bucketloads tonight! Ah but see…it’s special candy… And I’m not rich people! Maybe when I get famous then I can raffle off a Kitchen Aid mixer! Once I get one myself of course… :P
But let’s get into the giveaway excitement a little later and delve in my invention of the Halloween Oreo Marshmallows! Muahahahaha!
Not only are these scary but they’re super yummy! And really they weren’t an invention…they were more of an accident…a delicious, delicious accident that my family and I gobbled up :P
Remember when I went to Orlando? I know you do… I went to Magic Kingdom and the Epcot Food & Wine Festival. Twas awesome and amazingly delicious. Well while I was there, my cousins decided they wanted me to bake. On my vacation?! Gasp. What scoundrels! Lucky for them I actually wanted to, that’s why the treats turned out so good! I was trying to recreate my Chewy Oreo Treats for them because one treat per person transported all the way from Southern California just wasn’t enough!
Welllllllllll I may or may not have add one too many marshmallows. Something along the lines of an extra 6 ounces… Yeah I know. That’s a lot. Oh but don’t worry, they turned out to be a beaut. Just look at it…a little side view action for ya!
Top layer = nice chewy Oreo marshmallow + Bottom layer = crunchier Golden Oreo layer. And boy did those two layers compliment each other. It’s like the ying and yang of marshmallows, I don’t know how to describe it other than to say that crunchy (still chewy) Golden Oreo layer really just brings it all together. Oh yeaaah…but nothing…NOTHING beats a fat ass Batman marshmallow…
…that my cousin, Nicky, devoured. You lucky dog, you. I bet it tasted of amazingness cloaked in tights and a cape. I’m jealous.
Double-layered
Oreo Marshmallows
*Halloween accents optional but highly recommended!!
Ingredients:
- 2 (16 oz) bags of large marshmallows
- 1 box of regular Oreos, coarsely crushed
- 1 box of Golden Oreos, coarsely crushed
- 1 cup extra of crushed regular Oreos
- 1 stick butter, halved
Equipment:
- Food processor, something similar, or a Ziploc bag + rolling pin
- Large microwave-safe bowl, rubber spatula
- Parchment paper, 9×13 baking pan
- Cutting board,
large knife-> Travis reminded me that a pizza cutter actually worked WAY better! – thanks :), Pam non-stick spray or something similar
Instructions:
- Crush your (1 box) regular Oreos, (1 box) Golden Oreos, and extra (1 cup) of regular Oreos separately in a food processor or something similar. Using a Ziploc bag & rolling pin is just as effective but a little more time consuming. Make sure to keep the rations of Oreos segregated from each other.
- Line a 9×13 baking pan with a piece of parchment paper.
- Place 1 (16 oz) bag of marshmallows and half a stick of butter into the large microwave-safe bowl. Microwave for 1.5-2 minutes.
- Stir slightly with the rubber spatula to incorporate the melted butter and marshmallow together and then add your (1 box) crushed regular Oreos. Stir quickly until the mixture is well incorporated.
- Using the rubber spatula, quickly (so the mixture doesn’t set) deposit the mixture on the parchment paper-lined baking pan and make sure the mixture reaches all four corners and edges. Use another piece of parchment paper to smooth out the mixture.
- Repeat step 3 with the second bag of marshmallows.
- Repeat step 4 with the (1 box) crushed Golden Oreos AND the extra (1 cup) crushed regular Oreos.
- Repeat step 5. Place the second layer directly on top of the first regular Oreo marshmallow layer.
- Place the baking pan into the fridge until cooled. The bottom of the pan should no longer be warm to the touch.
- Once cooled, remove the set marshmallows and invert onto a cutting board lined with parchment paper.
- Cut into squares and decorate as you please! Either form into shapes like my first RIP Tombstone picture or embellish with sprinkles to make scary designs. Or maybe just show your love… :)
- Store in an airtight container in the fridge to keep from spoiling.

[…] Alas, I don’t have cupcakes to share with them today. I just have the Candy Giveaway winners!! But, I guess, the zombies can have them instead…er…I mean the candy. The zombies can fight the winners for the candy. That’s what I meant. I’m just glad I’m alive so I can follow through with this giveaway […]

I still have some of those fabulous treats in my fridge – almost gone though! I prefer the version with slightly less marshmallow personally but these were still excellent. I would also like to mention that the pizza cutter seemed to work better for the cutting than the knife did.
Yay for prize giveaways – although I think the prize should be desserts personally cooked by the author. ;-p

Wow. You still have some?! I left so many with you so that’s understandable…haha.
I always appreciate honest opinions so thank you :) The Chewy Oreo Treats are one of my favorite desserts.
You’re absolutely correct! I will change my post to reflect that a pizza cutter did indeed work better than the knife. I had forgotten…
Yay :) Haha! I was thinking that too. I’m just trying to see if anyone else is going to participate in this before I start getting fancy and sending cookies/baked goods out. Otherwise, I’d just be sending YOU prized goodies all the time and I don’t think that’s fair to everyone else! :P
