Happy Birthday, Jesus

Happy Birthday, Jesus.  No really… Happy Birthday…Jesus…

Vyvacious || Happy Birthday, Jesus

I drove past this and immediately had to pull over from laughing so hard AND so I could snap this awesome picture to share with all y’all :P

Christmas for my family is time for us to hang out and eat lots and lots of food.  There’s always bickering and there’s always Dolly Parton.  No, Dolly Parton doesn’t physically show up to my house but that’d be pretty cool.  My uncle used to always blast Dolly Parton Christmas songs and croon along to them.  It was an integral part of Christmas for me.  I came to expect it every year.

Except this year, Dolly Parton was not present in any way shape or form.  I don’t know why it was such a big deal to me but it was.  How can it be Christmas without Dolly Parton and her twangy Christmas music?!  To be honest, I don’t remember when the Dolly Parton music stopped.  All I know is that I didn’t realize it until this year.  To make up for it, I’ve been listening to country nonstop all day today, which isn’t really different from my everyday routine anyway :P

One of my favorite parts of Christmas is getting Christmas cards from everyone.  I like to use it as wallpaper in my cube at work.  I pin them all together and they line the wall at work so that when I’m feeling frustrated, I can just look over and giggle.  At what you might ask.  Well, this for one…

This was pasted inside the card itself and I cracked up immediately.  My friend, Ira, sure knows me well! :P  Then there was Dave’s card that made my heart swell :)

Never mind the fact that I’m probably the ONLY blogger he knows :P

This Christmas.  I decided to test my family.  No Christmas wishlist in the slightest.  Let’s see how well they REALLY know me.  No hints were given.  No words were exchanged.  Nada.  Zip.  Zero.  How’d they do…?

FUCKING AMAZING.

I opened all my Batman-related stuff first which made me squeal with delight.  Look at that Batman travel bag in the top left; it’s so cool!!!  I can’t wait to use all of it :D  Then let’s skip past the big box and examine the contents near the bottom.  Purses – awesome.  Cupcake corer/injector shit – freaking awesome.  MASTRO’S GIFTCARD – THE BEST!!!  I love Mastro’s in case you didn’t know…  If you need confirmation just read my Yelp review, seriously love that place.

Now let’s examine that big box.  Those bitches are sneaky.  I received all my other presents first which I was perfectly content and über happy with.  THEN my uncle opened a present which was a KitchenAid mixer (color:  red) and I lost it.  This was literally how it went down.

Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaat?!?!  How could you?!?!  How could he get a mixer and not meeeee?!  I shall go out and buy one for myself tomorrow!!  AHHHHHHHHH!

There were excuses of “he cooks more” and “you JUST bake“.  Needless to say, I was confuzzled and felt insulted.  How could they?  How COULD they?!  Why Santa, WHYYYYY?!?!

And then…and then they brought out the big ass box from upstairs that they had been hiding from me.  And I opened my last present in utter excitement.  There was lots of screaming.  And hugging…of the mixer, DUH.

My family is just a bunch of tricksters, I tell ya! ;)

So before you go back to your Christmas festivities, let’s enjoy some cute Despicable Me pictures courtesy of their Facebook Page :)

And who WOULDN’T want to give this little guy a kiss? :*  But perhaps my favorite Happy Holidays comes from my newly made friend!!  Let me tell you, she has the most beautiful illustrations I’ve seen.  I’m blown away every time I visit her site and look at her things.  She also has THE CUTEST cupcake illustrations…I might need to get a few for myself soon :)

Now I have one final picture.  I just wanted to say thank you to my two lovelies in Alaska for sending me this awesome gift!  I love it!  Mama Bear is a weirdo and refuses to give me permission to post her picture on my blog.  So here’s a picture of me happily wearing my purple headband with her cropped out!  Thanks you two! :)

  5. Ha! I love that you were all sad until they brought out your mixer! I’d be the same way and my family would probably have done the same thing too, hiding it upstairs. Evil! Nice haul though — looks like they know you well! =)
